Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Notodontidae
Genus: Clostera
Species: C. curtula
Common name: Chocolate Tip
Flight Season: April - September

Wings are brown/gray/black with a nut-colored general tone. The forewings feature a distinctive dark spot, sometimes with a reddish hue, bordered by a thin white line (unlike Clostera anachoreta, where the spot extends beyond the line).
