Annunciation scene at the entrance to the monk cells at the monastery of San Marco in Florence. This fresco painted by Fra Angelico ⓘ in about 1442 is one of the most well known images of the Renaissance.

The painting is part of a series of some 50 frescos that Angelico created for the redesigned and renovated monastery that was designed by the architect Michelozzo di Bartolomeo, and financed by the Medici family
