These two panels are Victorian stained glass by Hardman & Co., reused and reset in 1990 by David Sear and Michael Coles. The figures are framed within their original ornamental settings, with the surrounding glazing adapted to accommodate the panels in their new location.
Crucially, Coles’s role here is conservational rather than authorial. The design language remains unmistakably Hardman’s—Gothic revival figures, restrained colour, and patterned quarries—while the modern intervention is limited to sensitive re-siting and structural integration.
