Coenagrionidae

A family of Damselfiles with 40 genra. The family is known as the Narrow winged Damselflies.

Typical blue damselflies. The males are distinctively marked black and blue, whilst the females are either blue or brown.

These damselflies tend to stay away from the water's edge, preferring to perch on floating vegitation. They are strong fliers and move in a direct line.

A genus of damselfly easily recognized by a blue marking at the end of their abdomen. The pterostigma on the forewing of the males are usually bi-coloured.
