Ford Madox Brown (16 April 1821 – 6 October 1893) was born in Calais to English parents and studied art at Antwerp. He joined William Morris' design company, Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co., in 1861.
The Formicidae is a very large family of which contains the Ants. There are estimated to be 22,000 species of which 12,000 have been classified. All are social insects, living in colonies and having a female (queen), male, and worker castes.
High up in the clerestory of the north wall of the chancel, are a sequence of medieval stained glass panels documenting the legend and founding of the priory at Great Malvern.
This tomb dedicated to Francesco Algarotti (d1764), in the Camposanto Monumentale, Pisa, was designed by Mauro Antonio Tesi. It was erect on the instructions of Frederick the Great of Prussia.
