Resurrection (cell 8)

Ressurection by Fra Angelico

 

This fresco (1438-1443) in cell 8 of the San Marco monastery is by Fra Angelico. Depicting the Resurrection with the Three Maries in a cave. St Dominic looks on from the bottom left. The three women on the right are the work of Fra Angelico's apprentice Benozzo Gozzoli.
