This sculpture of a cherub with its hand upon an hour-glass to symbolize the brevity of life, and its elbow resting on a skull symbolizing death, is part of the mausoleum of canon Guilain Lucas (d1628).1 It is the work of Nicolas Blasset , and widely known as the Weeping Angel of Amiens which was a popular postcard sent by soldiers on the Somme during WWI.2
