The Acrididae consists of 10,000 of the 11,000 known Grasshoppers. All of the Locusts are also in the family.

This Order of insects with over 17,000 species, of which 650 are found mostly in southern Europe, the UK has just 30 species. The order consists of the Grasshoppers, Crickets, and Locusts. They are large insects with a blunt head and saddle shaped pronotum.

A family of Orthoptera that is commonly known as the bush-crickets. There are about 6,400 species worldwide, but only 10 are found in the UK.
